CUTTING SOLUTIONS

NewsMachinesRoofingToolsBuilding

The right tool for the right job. It’s a mantra we live by here at Fribesco. And finding the right cutting solution for your needs makes your day a hell of a lot easier. For example, a pair of snips is great for small, precious cuts, but not the most efficient way to cut large swathes of sheet metal. And much like whipping cream with a fork, while it will eventually get the job done, you’re probably going to give yourself a repetitive strain injury and be quite grumpy. So let’s save our sanity, our bodies, our time and choose tools that suit the task at hand.

Starting big

For big jobs, cutting large expanses of sheet metal, there are a couple of machines that can improve workflows. One of our favourites is the SLINET S 1.0 and S 1.5 coil processors. Designed to make your workflow more efficient and handle sheet metal coils with precision, both the S 1.0 and S 1.5 can process sheet metal that’s up to 1250mm in width. Combined with a user-friendly design and the option to upgrade to 8 cutting knives (over the standard 5), the SLINET range is ideal for a busy workshop needing efficient cutting, slitting, and recoiling.

Somewhere in the middle

The Wuko cutting range has a bunch of great solutions for cutting sheet metal on the job. The Wuko Cutter 1070 (available only in New Zealand) is a great lightweight cutter for quick, straight and slightly curved cuts. And is ideal for cutting sheet metal straight from the coil. For cutting with a bit of power behind it, the WUKO Clipper 1022 Cordless runs through sheet metal with no vibration or curling. It’s an ideal solution for use in the workshop or out on site. Need a hands-free option? The Wuko Trimmer 1080 propels itself and is perfect for removing old standing seams, clips and all.

Small but mighty

Small really is better sometimes. The Stubai Curved Tin Snips are ideal for getting clean and controlled circular cuts in sheet metal. And even though they’re small doesn’t mean they aren’t durable. These snips have induction-hardened blades and are made of durable C60 carbon steel. So they should last you a while. Like any good curved snip, they’ve got a left- and right-handed model to make your life easier.
